Fast Entry form: This system eliminates clicking multiple dialogs to enter data. All events are added into one screen, without having to select multiple windows or dialogs for each event. All tasks can be entered exclusively on the keyboard, without having to use a mouse.  All event fields accept keystrokes.You never have to stop to pick up the mouse to select from a drop-down box. Data is saved immediately to the record without having to click "save" for every animal record you update. See video.

 

Alias: Aliases can be used to speed data entry by allowing you to type a user-defined alias instead of selecting the name from a drop-down box. For example, when you enter a removal or piglet death reason you can simply enter the first letters of the reason, or type the alias you have defined using any character or number.

 

Auto Complete: Automatically select the best match as you are typing, saving time selecting items from a long list.

 

Event Customization: Each animal file has a list of events that can be added to the animal record.You can optimize the events for efficiency of data entry.  Many events include several optional fields that can be turned on or off to display in the data entry screens. You can select the data fields you want to use depending on the data you routinely record. This eliminates clicking the Enter key through empty fields you never use.

 

User Fields: Customize your animal records by defining additional User Fields. These are useful for managing custom data that Porcitec does not include by default, for example additional IDs, morphologic scores, genetic lines, color, size, etc.

 

Data entry sheet: Porcitec includes an innovative electronic data sheet that works similar to a spreadsheet. It allows data to be entered in batch form, by filling entire columns with data using the click of a button.  Now entering 100 new replacement females into the database can be completed in minutes with a few clicks, instead of an hour or more of tedious keystrokes.
